The Downstream Via is Ouray’s original route and set the standard for via ferratas in Colorado. This route brings adventurers on a winding course through an stunning canyon in Ouray, Colorado.

You will travel on steep, rocky terrain, all the while connected to a series of steel cables and utilizing metal rungs and steps to climb the canyon walls.

Experience exciting technical sections including the Sky Climb and the Sky Bridge.

Trip Length
The Downstream Route takes an average of four hours to complete. Some parties may finish in three hours, others might need six.

Group Size
This private trip can accommodate most group sizes. There can be a maximum of five climbers per guide.

Departure Times
7:00 a.m., 8:30 a.m., and 12:00 p.m.

Meeting Location
The Ouray Via Ferrata parking lot.

Equipment
We provide all technical equipment (via ferrata lanyard, harness, helmet, gloves). Participants must bring shoes with good tread and weather appropriate clothing.
