If you’re looking to reduce the cost of avalanche education, here are a couple great options:
The Peter Inglis Avalanche Education Fund (“PI Avy Fund”) provides scholarships to locals in San Miguel, San Juan, Ouray, Dolores, and Montrose counties and enables reimbursement for rec courses. Applications open mid-October.
The Know the Snow Fund, with its Joe Philpott & Peter Carver Scholarship, supports youth and lower-income adults in the San Juan region to access Rec Level 1, Level 2, rescue courses, and more.
