BACKCOUNTRY SKI COURSES

How To: Backcountry Skiing

This is your foundational course.

Backcountry skiing opens a door to freedom, solitude, and unforgettable turns far beyond the lift lines. But stepping into this world also requires new skills, awareness, and decision-making. Our How To: Backcountry Skiing course is designed to help you bridge that gap.

Over the course of the day, you’ll learn how to use backcountry touring gear, practice efficient uphill travel, and gain a grounding in avalanche awareness and terrain management. We’ll balance technical instruction with plenty of skiing—because the best way to learn is by doing.

Along the way, your guide will share tools for planning your day, reading the snowpack, and moving through the mountains with intention.
