Climbing in the gym is where many of us begin, but the experience of climbing outside is completely different. Rock is less predictable than plastic holds, bolts aren’t always where you expect them, and safety depends on systems and awareness beyond the wall. This course is designed to give gym climbers the tools to bridge that gap and start their outdoor journey with confidence.
We’ll cover outdoor-specific skills like cleaning anchors, rappelling, and safe belay practices, while also touching on route reading, rock movement, and crag etiquette. Just as important, we’ll introduce the mindset shift that happens when climbing outside: managing risk, reading terrain, and respecting the climbing environment.
