YOUTH CLIMBING PROGRAMS

Cirque Scramblers After-school Program

Cirque Scramblers After-School Outdoor Climbing Programs.

Cirque Scramblers is a 6-week after-school outdoor climbing series designed for kids ages 6–8 to build confidence, coordination, and comfort in the natural environment.

Meeting weekly at local climbing areas around Durango, this small-group program introduces foundational climbing movement, safety skills, and outdoor awareness through games, guided instruction, and plenty of time rock climbing.

Our goal is to create a supportive space where kids can challenge themselves, develop trust in their bodies, and form a lasting connection to each other, climbing, and the outdoors.

Weather Policy

Climbing programs will run in a wide range of weather conditions, and we do not cancel simply due to light rain or cooler temperatures—these can often make for memorable and engaging days outside. Please come prepared with appropriate layers, including a warm layer, rain shell, optional light gloves & extra socks. Safety is always our top priority. Programs will be canceled or adjusted in the event of hazardous conditions such as thunder & lightning, sustained heavy rain that compromises climbing & rock quality, high winds, or snow/ice.

Each group will be offered one weather-related makeup day per session, which will be scheduled based on availability. If a cancellation is necessary, your guide or program coordinator will notify you

  • Primarily 12-24 hours beforehand if clearly bad,
  • and make the final call the morning-of the session before 10AM.

Transportation Policy

Cirque Guides does not provide transportation for participants. Parents or guardians are responsible for drop-off and pick-up at the designated meeting location.

In the event of changing weather or other circumstances requiring an early end to the program, parents/guardians are expected to be available for prompt pick-up from the field location.
